Komatsu Forest has entered into an agreement to acquire Malwa
Forest AB in Hyssna, Sweden. The transaction is expected to be
completed by April 1, 2026, subject to customary closing
conditions.
Malwa was founded in 2009 and develops and manufactures
lightweight harvesters and forwarders designed for selective
thinning and operations in sensitive terrain. Interest in this
type of machine has grown as forestry continues to evolve, with
increased focus on soil protection, climate impact and more
sustainable working methods in the forest.
“Malwa has developed strongly in recent years, and we see a
clear and growing demand for lightweight forestry machines. To
continue that journey and reach new markets, this is a natural
and important step for us. With Komatsu Forest we gain a strong
industrial partner that provides long-term stability while
creating new opportunities to further develop the Malwa concept
and reach more customers around the world,” says Magnus Wallin,
Founder and Head of Business Development at Malwa.
Komatsu Forest is a global manufacturer of forestry machines and
part of Komatsu Ltd., an international group operating within
construction, mining and forestry equipment.
