Germany: Hardwood sawn timber exports down slightly in 2025
In 2025, exports of hardwood lumber fell by 3% compared to the previous year. Exports to the two major importers, China and the United States, increased by 2% and decreased by 3%, respectively, compared to 2024. Imports by Poland decreased by 11%. Imports by Vietnam and India increased by 9% and 4%, respectively, compared to 2024.

Germany: Prices for hardwood sawn timber show little change
The producer price index for hardwood sawn timber increased by 1% between December 2024 and December 2025. By contrast, the producer price for beech logs decreased by 1% over the same period.
