Davidsen Tømmerhandel, part of Finnish group Kesko, has seen its
turnover rise to 296.8 million euros (approximately 2.2 billion
DKK) in the first half of 2025, compared with 1.3 billion DKK in
the same period last year. The growth follows three strategic
acquisitions: Roslev Trælasthandel, CF Petersen & Søn, and
Tømmergaarden.
Kesko, which owns 90 percent of Davidsen, has invested around
2.6 billion DKK in Denmark since acquiring the timber company in
2023. CEO Jorma Rauhala stated that the acquisitions
"significantly strengthen" Kesko's position in the Danish
building materials market, increasing its market share to almost
20 percent.
Davidsen now operates 48 stores in Denmark, plus a branch in
Nuuk. The company has expanded its fleet to around 50 yellow
trucks to maintain fast delivery times and ensure direct control
over the supply chain. CEO Henrik Clausen highlighted that in an
increasingly online market, drivers "are often our face to
customers."
Despite challenging market conditions, including low consumer
confidence and a slow recovery in construction, the acquisitions
and gradual market improvement have supported both revenue and
operational performance for the company.
